For 2008, Infiniti's M Sedan line is to receive numerous updates and additional features. Most notably, the ATTESA E-TS intelligent all-wheel drive system will be available paired to the V8-powered M45. Until now, AWD was only available with the 3.5-litre V6 engine. The V8 and all-wheel drive combination will aim the M45x more towards similar offerings from Audi, Mercedes and BMW.

A new and improved Lane Departure System is fitted too, which now uses the Vehicle Dynamic Control system to actively brake and keep the car within its lane, should the driver begin to wander. This system represents advanced technology working together with existing hardware to help keep occupants safe and in control.

Power comes from a choice of award-winning engines, including a 325-horsepower 4.5-litre DOHC V8 and a VQ-series 3.5-litre V6 engine, specifically tuned in the M's application to deliver 275 horsepower. These engines, by default, deliver power to the rear wheels.

Former M Sport models have now been replaced by an available sport package, and steps have been taken to further differentiate the sport models from the non-sport models in appearance. Other changes include a new front and rear fascia, headlights, grille and taillight design, new wheel designs and a few updates to the interior color scheme. Two new paint colors are also available this year.
