A combination of SUV and sedan with a German twist
Revealed today, before its official debut at the Tokyo Motor Show, the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack shows us another side of the Passat personality we know and love.

It features a redesigned bumper reminiscent of an SUV, and its taller stance hints at a tougher nature. The Passat Alltrack defines itself as a mix between a traditional sedan and an SUV like the Tiguan.

When it’s launched in early 2012, the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack will offer a choice of four engines, two TSI gas versions (158 and 207 hp) with both direct-injection and a turbocharger, and two turbodiesel TDIs (138 and 167 hp).

The 4MOTION all-wheel drive will come standard with the TSI models and the more the potent 167 hp TDI and will be available as an option with the 138 hp TDI.

For now, there’s no way of knowing if the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack will ever grace Canadian roads.
