Michael Galati used a restart that took place after an incident on lap 9 to take his first SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Touring Car win of the season. Peter Cunningham and Pierre Kleinubing both on RealTime Acuras completed the podium for the Round Six race at Watkins Glen International.
The first full-course caution came on lap five, when the Acura TSX of point leader Kuno Wittmer was stuck in the gravel at the Boot after contact with Jim Daniels' Mazda6.
Because of Kuno Wittmer shortfall, Pierre Kleinubing is now the new series leader and has now a 26 points lead.
The series next heads to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, July 17-20.
