Fiat 500 and more deserve everyone’s attention

March 2nd, 2017 marks the first-ever World Italian Design Day, a celebration promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

In over 100 locations worldwide, 100 Italian Design Ambassadors (designers, business men and women, journalists, critics, communicators, and teachers) will be illustrating a project of excellence and explore the special bond linking the products, the manufacturing capabilities of their makers, and their origins.

The main event is taking place in Rome where two Fiat 500 that won the prestigious Compasso d'Oro (Golden Compass) design award—one in 1959 and the other in 2011—are on display in front of the Palazzo della Farnesina (the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry). These cars are genuine symbols of Italian creativity and have become rooted in international collective imaginary.

Auto123.com invites you to celebrate World Italian Design Day by rediscovering all the fine cars sold by the various Italian makes in Canada including:

Fiat and its lovely 124 Spider roadster;
Alfa Romeo and its award-winning Giulia sedan;
Ferrari and its one-of-a-kind GTC4Lusso hatchback;
Lamborghini and its explosive Huracán supercar;
Maserati and its ultra-sporty Levante crossover.
