The FIA has announced on Wednesday that additional bonus points will be awarded to the three fastest drivers of a televised, special stage held at each event, starting next season.
The three fastest drivers of this super special stage, which will be ran on the last day of the event, will get additional three, two and one championship points, respectively.
Among the other decisions that have been unveiled after Wednesday’s World Motor Sport Council meeting, the cars will start with a one-minute gap between each other, instead of two or three minutes gaps as it is currently done.
Moreover, FIA announced a new two-wheel-drive category with the Production class, and that it studying the creation of a GT class.
A new young driver academy programme will also be launched.
