2004 Ford F-150 - A Giant Leap Forward in Interior Quality

No matter how Ford decided to update its next-generation F-150 some will complain they did too much while others bellyache the blue oval brand hasn't gone far enough. After all it's a personal thing, and truck fans take their rides very personally.

One thing's for sure, Ford isn't going to offend its loyal following with the 2004 iteration. It's big, bold and, depending on your tastes, beautiful, with a slightly more intimidating eggcrate grille, smoother sheetmetal and slightly more muscular fenders. It also appears more refined, due to larger, flush-mounted wraparound headlamp clusters, tighter panel gaps and a healthy dose of chrome on both base and top-line models.

Not all the refinement is immediately apparent though, at least not until stepping up and inside. The leather, wood and metallic trimmed Lariat edition could make many luxury car owners blush from inadequacy. But even the base model's attractive design and high-grade materials surpasses most domestic truck, and even car offerings. It's really that good. The majority of North American made cars, trucks and SUVs have come under fire recently for shoddy interior quality, an image Ford is attempting to shed with its new pickup.
