| The 2000 Malibu added the bowtie to its front grille, no longer needing to hide its identity to attract new customers. |
After the 1999 model, year 2000's center grille and emblem changed, bringing the bowtie proudly up front. The Malibu obviously did its job, raising Chevy's midsize image to the point where it didn't need to hide its origins any longer.
If you don't mind bland yet inoffensive styling, and aren't yearning for European inspired driving dynamics, the reliable and functional Malibu might just be an excellent fit. But before you buy please take my advice. If you've got a teenage male driver in the family opt for the 4-cylinder and sleep better at night.
