And what does VW have for the new generation of tech freaks? Nothing less than a 7-inch screen in the center console, four large monitors in the backrests of the first and second rows plus two extendable displays between the second and third rows. That last display is located within the rear bench seat, and when pulled out to its first position transforms into a handy table. Continue to extend the swing arm and the monitor becomes visible to both rear passengers.

A rear-mounted 'backeye' camera offers assistance while reversing, displaying a wide angle view on a second 7-inch screen. Unlike such systems currently on the market in the Infiniti FX45 and Lexus RX 330, that use the dash-mounted GPS/infotainment screen to project the rearward view, the VW monitor replaces the inside rearview mirror. An audible parking assist feature is also part of the package.
