Volkswagen engineers have integrated the 5-speed Tiptronic gearshift lever into the dash panel to maximize space. While it at first seems like just a conceptual whim, more conventional dash mounted shifters are catching on with production vehicles like Honda's CR-V and the Toyota Prius. While the gear lever shows some future think the VW's circular gauges are traditionally round, analog dials - a nice contrast sitting high over the steering column.
Three rows of "Cotton White" seating surfaces and "Elm Olive" side trim, both in soft Nappa leather, offer the spaciousness expected in a Volkswagen van, and luxurious surroundings combined with superior fit and finish expected of VW products in general. The middle seats can rotate 180 degrees while the third row is a bench, with two individual contours to enhance comfort. VW uses a rail system to expand the van's versatility, allowing the ability to slide the seats up and down as necessary.
The interior is well lit due to large lights integrated into the roof. At the opposite end the floor is made of a geometrically patterned semi-transparent urethane, allowing a layer of aluminum to shine through - far out man.
