In typical Buick fashion the Rendezvous' interior was also created to be a cut above the sport utility masses. The first thing its driver sees is a sensationally stylized 4-dial instrument package, consisting of tachometer, speedometer, temperature and fuel gauges. Like the exterior the organically shaped dash is divided into contrasting colors, the top in a matte black to resist glare and the bottom in either gray or beige, to match the interior color scheme. A full course of audio buttons can be conveniently accessed by each thumb without removing the hands from its partially leather covered steering wheel. The audio system itself is within easy reach at the top of the center stack, just above the heating and ventilation controls. Below that, switches for the rear wiper/washer, back liftgate release, parking assist and dual-front heated seats form a tidy row. Ironically Buick, traditionally one of GM's most luxuriously appointed makes, chose not to embellish its SUV with wood grain accents, but instead trims it with an unusual print pattern that just happens to work very well. The optional two-tone leather package boosts the Rendezvous' image further upscale.

For 2003 GM has re-categorized the trim levels to include the base CX, CX Plus, CXL and CXL Plus. It wouldn't be a Buick without air-conditioning or power windows and locks thus they come standard on the 5-passenger CX. Other standard features include cruise control, tilt steering wheel, cloth seats and a 6-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system with a built in graphic equalizer. Move up to the CX Plus and add dual zone air-conditioning. The CXL adds a tire inflation monitoring system, air filtration, 8-speaker premium audio, an overhead console, fold-away rear footrests, driver information center, auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass, 6-way power adjustable front seats, leather seating surfaces and trim, plus personalized 2-position memory settings that include the driver's seat, exterior mirrors, radio presets, power door locks and lighting.
