Remember I specifically stated that its rear three quarter view is elegant? That's because its front end design isn't quite as easy to interpret, starting with a center hood bulge the tapers wider as it reaches a large, drooping ovoid grille. It bisects a pair of horizontal air vents that span from side to side, simple and nicely detailed. Just below, large round fog lamps are highlighted by a thick metallic band of trim that skirts around almost the entire car, framing the exhaust pipes in the rear.

After studying an assortment of pictures Subaru supplied, I found the back end appears to borrow a few styling cues from the new BMW 7-Series, with its slightly taller, narrow trunk and angular tail lamps, yet the B11S is much more cohesive and easily the concept's best angle. The side profile, also nicely done, pulls a little from Mitsubishi's Eclipse, especially in the accentuated fender flares, and Mazda RX-8, mostly because that model incorporates a similar 'clamshell' door configuration.
