The 123 horsepower Matrix 4WD is equipped with an all-new V-Flex 4-wheeldrive system, automatic transmission, as well as an anti-lock braking ABSsystem, independent rear suspension, power windows and illuminated entry.
The Matrix 4WD's V-Flex drive system acts just like a FWD in normaloperation. However, slippage of a front drive wheel causes a viscous couplingin the drivetrain to activate 4WD, transferring up to fifty per cent of powerto the rear wheels. When both front wheels have traction again, all the powergoes back to the front wheels.
