The Sport Truck's curves end with Mitsubishi's signature "slash-cut" fenders, which look chiseled flat from a solid block of metal. The profile view is clean, partially due to a lack of door handles, but also because of its sedan-like polar-opposite A- and C-pillar angle.

Looking from the rear an organically-shaped pair of taillights look small in comparison to the truck, but nevertheless fit harmoniously into the overall design. Their cutouts continue horizontally across the tailgate, stylistically breaking up what would otherwise be an overwhelming piece of metal. Just below, sitting between a dual set of tailpipes is a license plate holder - could this truck really be so close to the production version that Mitsubishi would bother including that?

A quick look into the deep box lets you know that Mitsubishi didn't merely design this truck to be good looking. For instance the multifunctional, electronically operated tailgate can be set to one of four positions, including a normal or shut position, a semi-retracted position for hauling longer items, an open position to effectively extend the bed length for carrying loads of lumber for instance, and a fully retracted position where the tailgate completely hides below the rear bed for the ultimate in cargo access.

Speaking of ultimate, the Sport Truck features rear seats that slide into the rear bed to give the kids an "open-air 'jump seat' riding position," Mitsubishi says. And the automaker has thought over everything, transforming the hinged rear window into a windshield when the rear seats are extended rearward. Just in case the weather doesn't agree with your enthusiasm for the outdoors, the seats are surfaced in a weatherproof fabric that is also said to be "soft and comfortable, yet also durable and washable."
