The big issue with this Yeti concept is its roof, designed in part with coachbuilder Karmann. The system won't wow with a

complex, power metal-folding system, but takes two of the most simple and basic convertible elements and pairs them together. It may be simple, but the white plastic, clip-on targa-style top covers the driver and front passenger, and can easily be removed from its clip on points of the B-Pillar rollover bar and the windshield's frame. For open skies above, it can be removed and stowed in its own special compartment in the trunk area.

The second element of the Yeti's succinctly divided roof is a canvas, folding soft top that spans the rear portion of the cabin and trunk. The dark fabric roof is manually operated for simplicity and for cost reasons. With a few simple snaps, the roof is unlatched, and can either be rolled up or completely removed, showing off its rollover frame protection network, much like

Jeep's archaic Wrangler. Like the Jeep, the rear windows must be attached and detached, but unlike the classic 4x4 the Yeti's glass panes are held in place via clips, rather than zip-down windows. The rear roll bar structure makes lowering and raising the top easy, as compared to free-formed roofs.

To accommodate the added purpose of a pickup truck, Skoda had to redesign the Yeti's nether regions. To obtain two-seater status, the Yeti's rear seats fold down evenly, providing a completely flat bed. The seats and the trunk's floor both feature rubber ribs that run throughout the cabin, and are backed by a hard-wearing plastic floor. A floor extension also expands out to cover the gap between the trunk and the tailgate providing a two-metre long loading platform. Hinged plastic panels cover the sides of the trunk, allowing the rear windows to be safely stowed.
