If that's true, and there's no reason to doubt it, we're in for a treat with Ford's new midsize sedan. I've climbed in and out of the new F-150 pickup quite a few times while spending only a short but informative session within the 2004 Freestar minivan, and am fully sold on the company's positive results in interior perceived quality and fit and finish. Ford's commitment to continue this quality trend into its new lineup of cars is a positive step towards improving its overall image.

The Futura's styling should do a great deal to improve blue oval morale as well, but being that Ford has only supplied a single artist's rendering I'll have to leave a full analysis until a later time. For now I can only agree with Lyons as to the future model's 427 Concept derived styling cues and state further that I think Ford is on the right track. Other approving nods and excited banter during the introduction helped me to realize that I wasn't alone in my quick assessment.

"The Futura has been conceived to pull at consumers' heartstrings, not their purse strings," stated J Mays, vice president, Design, Ford Motor Company. "Futura will be that rare midsize sedan that oozes style but doesn't sacrifice roominess, comfort, trunk space - or affordability."
