Trembles. Insomnia. Irritability. Agitation. Confusion. Dilation of pupils. Quickening pulse rate. Profound delirium. That's it, now I'm addicted.

The G's new styling has matured and sports smoother lines.

If this drug would cost a fortune and I'd have to walk down a dark alley to buy it off some weird-looking dude, it wouldn't be an issue. The problem is that this drug is legal, we can buy it in a welcoming and bright place, and its price is almost reasonable.

The drug I'm addicted to is simply called G. Infiniti, Nissan's luxury brand, sells this beast since 2003, which benefits from a complete redesign this year.

More horsepower
The 2006 G35x flaunted a 280-horse cavalry, which seemed more then enough to me when I drove the car last year. For 2007, 26 additional stallions trotted into the stable. Did the G really need them? Not really, but since they're there, we'll take them, won't we?

The car is very fast, obviously. Mash the gas pedal to the floor, and the G35 blasts off with any fooling around, thanks to the all-wheel drive, and rushes to 100 km/h in about 6 seconds. Unfortunately, the 6-speed manual gearbox still isn't offered on this version.

Passing power is just is impressive; by trying to pass a semi truck on the highway, I punched the right-side pedal and the G35x downshifted two gears while instantly picking up the pace. So I blew by that semi as well as a minivan, three cars and what I believe to be a Formula 1... All that accompanied by the goosebump-inducing roar of the 3.5-liter V6.

For every 100 kilometers traveled, expect having to buy 12.9 liters of premium fuel.

The pumped-up 3.5L V6 now develops a right-foot-tingling 306 hp.
