Of course, that now brings us to the handling characteristics of the vehicle, and whilst if I'm totally honest, I have driven convertible cars with fractionally better road handling qualities, many of them suffered in the area of comfort. What Audi has created in the A4 Cab, is a near perfect balance between the two!
Another area, on which Audi should be congratulated, is the exhaust note which the vehicle emits. In normal use, it sounds pretty much like most other vehicles, and yet, when pedal goes to metal, it growls like a true sports car!
Whilst on the subject of sound, I should remark on the Audi Symphony II stereo system which my tester carried.
For this journey, a good friend of mine had compiled a MP3 disc of oldies for our enjoyment. This amounted to over 250 songs which Audi's system read and displayed on the console. If I didn't like one particular track, a simple push of a little button on the steering wheel selected the next one or, as soon as I read the display I could move on.
Now, that might sound like a small deal to most, but I have just come out of a $66k BMW, which basically couldn't tell the difference between Beethoven and Boy George!
By now, most of you have probably noticed that this review is slightly unusual. Typically we auto journalists stick to a certain formula where we start off with what the vehicle looks like, and then work our way through the interior, performance figures etc.
Some have said that I have a "warped personality". I just like to think of myself as "not the norm", which is why I'm going to end off by giving you my opinion on the Looks of the Audi A4 Cabriolet... It's stunning! Don't believe me? Go check one out for yourself!
