2011 BMW X3 on display at the LA Auto Show
The much-anticipated second-generation X3 from BMW makes its “official” North American debut at the Los Angeles auto show.
Longer, wider and slightly lower than the first-generation X3, the new model benefits from increased rear-seat room, more cargo room as well as improved interior fit and finish.
The entry-level xDrive28i will use a 3.0-litre inline-6 putting out 240 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. The xDrive35i, on the other hand, is equipped with a turbo inline-6 that also displaces 3.0 litres but develops 300 horses and 295 lb-ft. However, both versions receive an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The new X3 is now available with luxury features such as head-up display, a rear-view camera with Top View, a navigation system, the iDrive multimedia interface, a power tailgate as well as a driver-selectable suspension called Dynamic Driving Control which offers Normal, Sport and Sport+ settings.
The 2011 X3 will start at $41,900 in Canada.
