The highly capable Volvo XC70 was redesigned for 2008, as such 2010 brings little in the way of changes other than a realignment of options, to bring the vehicle’s content packages more inline with the desires of the Canadian consumer.

For 2010, this aggressive looking off-road Swede arrives in three distinct trim levels, the first two of which feature Volvo’s contemporary 3.2-litre in-line 6-cylinder mill that produces 235 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque.

The smoothly generated juice finds its way to all four wheels after running through Volvo’s 6-speed automatic transmission. A Dynamic Stability and Traction Control set-up is included as standard equipment on all XC70s.

The entry-level 2010 XC70 will greet potential buyers with a price tag of $43,995. The standard equipment lists includes 16-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth, power operated driver’s seat with memory, heated front seats, T-Tech seating surfaces and an 8-speaker audio unit.

Next up is the Premium level with a sticker of $49,995. The heftier tag provides many more features as standard equipment, including Volvo’s BLIS (Blind Spot Information System), leather seating, and a sunroof and power operated tailgate.

To further load-up the XC70 Premium, two option packages are available: Luxury and Tech. These packages add $3,500 and $4,000 respectively to the XC70’s sticker price.

The third and final XC70 trim level for 2010 is the turbocharged T6. A 3.0-litre mill that delivers 281 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque mobilizes this performance-oriented version of the stout XC70.

The T6 is loaded from the get-go. The only option package available is the Tech Package, which will add $3,600 to the T6 tag of $55,995. A few standalone options are also available for those wishing to further personalize their XC70 ride.
