Pros: Essentially, the Flying Spur is a Continental GT with two more doors. You get all the power and prestige with more ease of access to the luxurious hand-sewn interior.

Cons: Despite its price tag, you’d be buying the “entry level” Bentley, and you’d have to live with that knowledge for the rest of your days as a Flying Spur owner. Just sayin’.

2015 Bentley Flying Spur Price and Fuel Economy: As mentioned above, this is the “bottom of the barrel” (ha ha) Bentley with a starting price in the super affordable (ha ha) $200k range. Start counting your pennies now.

And despite its massive girth and large engine, the 2015 Bentley Flying Spur actually manages decent fuel efficiency ratings with EPAs listed at 11L/100km on the highway and 19L/100km in the city. That ain’t half bad for a half-ton vehicle.

Powertrain: The Flying Spur features the same engine found in the Continental GT, a W12 twin-turbo that’ll pump out 616 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels and is controlled via an 8-speed automatic transmission. You’ll hit 100km/hr from a standstill in just 4.6 seconds, and make glorious W12 exhaust note noises along the way.

Equipped with air suspension that offers four levels of damping, cruising in the Bentley Flying Spur is nothing short of sumptuous and quick.

Improvements and Changes: The Flying Spur name has been around since the 1940s, and while it used to be attached to the Continental, in 2013 Bentley dropped “Continental” from the nameplate and simply kept Flying Spur -- despite it being a Continental with two more doors.

Also, since 2014, the Bentley Flying Spur was slated to achieve much better gas mileage ratings and perform better.

Cargo Capacity: It’s safe to say everyone aboard the 2015 Bentley Flying Spur will have plenty of legroom, headroom and be riding in supreme comfort. Oh, and all their golf bags will fit in the 475-litre trunk, as well.

Safety: The 2015 Bentley Flying Spur is equipped with all the latest safety features including all standard airbags, ABS and other road-safety features.
