The 2019 Nissan Pathfinder will offer a more expanded range of technologies and convenience features for the new year, according to information released by Nissan in the U.S. We expect the Canadian editions to follow suit.
In terms of pricing, the U.S.-edition Pathfinder sees its base starting price inch up slightly, by just under $200 USD; here again, we can expect the same north of the border. We will of course be keeping you posted as detailed information is made available.
The 7-passenger 2019 Nissan Pathfinder will be available in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations and a choice of four grade levels: S, SV, SL and Platinum.
What’s new
Most of the changes for 2019 involve previously optional equipment being included standard. For example, rear sonar is now standard on every trim, and the Intelligent Cruise Control, Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert systems are now standard on the SV trim and above. All versions get new USB ports, namely 2 USB type-C and 4 USB type-A ports.
The SL and Platinum versions of the 2019 Pathfinder now get standard LED headlights, and one new exterior paint colour choice has been added, called Mocha Almond Pearl.
Notable features back this year as standard equipment include automatic emergency braking and Nissan's new rear door alert system, which can help remind departing drivers of items or children that may be forgotten in the rear seat.
The powertrain
All 2019 Pathfinder models run on a 284-hp 3.5L V6 engine with direct injection, wedded to an Xtronic transmission. The system has maximum 259 lb-ft of torque. It can tow up to 2,720 kg (when properly equipped), meaning owners can tow two-axle recreational trailers.
The interior
The seven-passenger cabin of the 2019 Pathfinder features Nissan’s EZ Flex seating system with latch and glide, a second-row tilt-and-glide seat that allows easy third row access with a child safety seat still installed.
Also present are: intelligent around-view monitor, premium 13-speaker bose audio system, dual panorama moonroof, motion-activated liftgate with liftgate position memory and NissanConnect with navigation and services.
