3. More tech on board
No surprise, one of the big trends in the automotive industry in 2019 is the multiplication of tech features in new models. And while Toyota certainly wants to make its vehicles more fun to drive, it is also focused on adding new safety features. The new RAV4 thus gets the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite of systems, standard on all trims. Systems include pre-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with steering assist, lane keep assist and automatic high beams.
Blind spot monitor with rear transversal traffic alert is also part of the equipment included. Unfortunately, the automatic braking system in case of transversal traffic detection is included only in the Limited edition.
The RAV is also equipped with eight airbags, a backup camera with projected trajectory and Toyota’s Star safety system, which includes an improved stability control system, traction management, automatic brake force distribution, brake assist, anti-lock braking system, and smart-stop technology.
Connectivity being another hot trend on the automotive landscape, the Entune 3.0 multimedia system is included in all trims, and is Apple CarPlay-compatible. This year at least, the Android Auto is not integrated, however.
