2021 Luxury Compact SUV of the Year: BMW X3
The three finalists in the compact luxury segment were all very different. On the one hand, the Acura RDX offers a sporty ride. On the other, the Lincoln Corsair surprises with its quality and driving pleasure.
As for the BMW X3, the width of the model product offering is certainly one of the big factors that tipped the vote in its favor. There’s the regular version and the plug-in hybrid model, plus the X3 can also be ordered in the M version, which inherits the same turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine as the mythical M3.

2021 Luxury Midsize SUV of the Year: Land Rover Defender
Rarely has there been a new model that shows up in this segment and generates as much attention as Land Rover's Defender. Of course, there's the return of a mythical name to the automotive landscape, but also, and above all, the absolutely stunning styling. An A+ for the designers. But that wouldn't be enough on its own, and where the model made its mark was on the road... and off. Let's just say it won over the jury at Auto123, as well as many other media outlets around the world. Better luck next time for the finalists, the BMW X5 and Lexus RX.
