2021 Full-Size Luxury SUV of the Year: BMW X7

The battle in this segment was an all-out affair. Quite simply, all three vehicles in the running could have been declared winners. The Cadillac Escalade, in particular, impressed everyone this year, among other things with its suspension that turns every ride into a plush, soothing bed of roses. The Mercedes GLS meanwhile is a rolling laboratory. However, you only have to get behind the wheel of the BMW X7 to understand that the German automaker has worked miracles with its beast that behaves like a beautiful ballerina on the road.

2021 Midsize Pickup of the Year: Chevrolet Colorado / GMC Canyon

Seven or eight years ago, the top prize in this segment was annually just sort of mailed in, to the Toyota Tacoma. However, since 2015, General Motors has returned to the segment in a big way with its Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon duo. The lineup may be aging, but it is varied and offers interesting options to consumers. Chevrolet's ZR2 and ZR2 Bison models come to mind. The Toyota Tacoma is also aging, but it remains as popular and competent as ever. The other finalist, the Jeep Gladiator, got its share of votes, but it will need to be refined and more attractively priced to overtake the GM duo.
