The Korean automaker not named Hyundai has already launched the impressive EV6, a cousin of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, and there are more to come. But like BMW, Kia remains committed to the plug-in hybrid format to bridge the gap until more EVs arrive at dealers.

Kia still offers the Niro PHEV, a small urban crossover the new, jazzier version of which is about to debut. As for the Sorento PHEV, its presence in the lineup now allows small-to-medium-sized families to also get around in a comfortable and frugal SUV.  

The Sportage PHEV, meanwehile, is expected to arrive at dealerships later this year.

Possible range (in electric mode): 42 km (Niro) and 51 km (Sorento).
