VinFast

Newcomer Vinfast made quite a splash with record-breaking development time for its first two EV SUVs – the VF8 and three-row VF9 – that made it to production stage seemingly only months after we first heard of the brand.
It took the Vietnamese EV maker a little while longer to actually get its vehicles to market in North America. But when it did, the two SUVs arrived looking handsome with clean aerodynamic exterior lines, big central infotainment displays for all your necessary controls and interiors that are coddling enough. Both models come standard with dual-motor AWD, with both models topping out at 402 hp.

Volkswagen

There are a variety of VW ID models on the horizon – not least the ID. Buzz we just test-drove, a reimagined version of the venerable VW bus. But aside from that model, which hasn’t hit dealerships quite yet, all we’re seeing in Canada for now is the ID.4 crossover.
That’s no bad thing. the ID.4 offers handsome looks, a well-equipped interior and the latest EV powertrain VW has to offer. Add a peppy 335 hp dual-motor version to the equation and you have a great all-electric compact crossover good for both the day-to-day grind and longer-haul adventures.
- - Volkswagen ID.4 dual-motor max range: 432 km
- - Volkswagen ID.4 single-motor max range: 468 km
- - Volkswagen ID. Buzz max range : TBC
