A Canadian to take over as head of BMW Design

On June 1st, 2012, the team of designers at BMW will have a new boss: Karim Habib. This 42-year-old Lebanon-born Canadian initially joined the BMW Group in 1998. His many achievements over the years include the design of the current BMW 7 Series.

Habib has been in charge of exterior design at BMW Automobiles since March 2011.

''I feel very honoured and I look forward to this new challenge. Now I have the opportunity of working together with a great team to shape the future face of the BMW brand,'' he says.

BMW executives insist Habib is an outstanding designer who has had a significant impact on the design of the BMW brand.

''His longstanding experience and subtle instinct for timely elegance and dynamics are the ideal prerequisites for this demanding task,'' says Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President of BMW Group Design.
