Initially scheduled to make a return to America at the end of 2012, Alfa Romeo will make customers wait until 2014 at the earliest.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Fiat's plans were delayed by the continuing economic crisis in Europe. The expansion of the Alfa Romeo brand into the U.S. is supposed to serve as a springboard for China and other emerging markets.
When Alfa does come to America, expect its showrooms (shared with Fiat vehicles) to feature a two-seat sports car and the Giulia premium sedan. Future models will use powertrains with technology from Maserati and Ferrari, also owned by Fiat.
