Max Gresham drove the fastest ARCA series qualifying lap in 8 years at the Pocono Raceway on Friday ahead of the ARCA 125 event scheduled for this afternoon.

Gresham completed a lap of 53.535 seconds in 168.114 m/h on board of his No. 25 Toyota. The track record is still hold by no other than NASCAR driver Kyle Busch with a lap at 170.849 m/h back in 2003.

Rookie points leader Ty Dillon, on Chevrolet, was leading the qualifying effort for most of the session, only settling in second after Gresham's fastest lap, two spots from the end. He was 0.011 second short of a third consecutive pole.

Driver Casey Roderick qualified in third position in just his third start with the Randy Hill Racing No. 08 Ford. Chris Buescher and Ryan Wilson completed the top-5 for Ford and Toyota respectively.

Kyle Fowler, Tim George Jr., Grant Enfinger, Chad McCumbee, and Tom Hessert completed the top-10. Canadian driver Maryeve Dufault qualified in 27th position.

This afternoon's race, scheduled for 3 p.m., is a 50-lap, 125-mile sprint to victory. There will be only one pit-stop to this particular event. The other Pocono event in June totaled 80 laps.
