On certain 3-Series sedans equipped with xDrive (all-wheel drive), the front driveshaft attachment bolts may not have received adequate tightening torque during vehicle assembly. Should the fasteners loosen and fall out, the driveshaft would detach from the transfer case and/or the front differential, which could result in additional damage to the driveline, the undercarriage, and any nearby components.
Due to the xDrive configuration, separation of the front driveshaft would not result in a loss of vehicle propulsion.

The front lower control arms could corrode due to exposure to humid environments and road de-icing chemicals. Over time, corrosion could progress causing thinning and perforation of the steel, which could allow the control arm to fracture near the forward pivot attachment to the chassis. Lower control arm failure could result in a loss of vehicle control.
Dealers will inspect the front lower control arms and, depending on the degree of corrosion exhibited, will either rustproof or replace them.

On certain vehicles, the sunroof glass may not have been correctly installed during vehicle assembly. A sunroof glass separating from the vehicle could strike another vehicle, stationary object, or bystander, causing property damage and/or personal injury.
Dealers will inspect the glass adhesion and either apply additional adhesive or replace the sunroof glass.
