New Model is Ninth PT Cruiser Variation and First Custom Convertible
The first three Dream Cruisers were hardtops, but Chrysler just couldn't help but choose the new convertible when the opportunity for number four came up.

In total, 1,500 PT Cruiser Dream Series 4's will ship to dealers as 2005 models this week, to coincide with Detroit's annual Woodward Dream Cruise on Saturday, August 21st.
Fitted with a 2.4-liter turbocharged, 16-valve, DOHC 4-cylinder engine that produces 220 horsepower at 5,100 rpm mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or optional 4-speed automatic with AutoStick manual mode, the new model won't be all show and no go.
The show part of the equation includes an exclusive paint job in deep red, plus the addition of a maroon cloth convertible top.

How much you ask? The Series 4 comes completely loaded at $33,635 in 5-speed manual mode and $34,985 with the automatic, including destination charge.
While the new PT is the fourth in the Dream Series, it is actually the sixth factory-customized PT Cruiser since its spectacular launch in 2,000. In addition to the Dream Series 4, Chrysler considers PT customs to include the Flames, Woodie, and PT Dream Cruiser Series 1, 2 and 3.
In addition to customs, Chrysler now offers the PT in two configurations, hardtop and convertible, as well as a variety of trim levels with the GT Turbo being the most desirable. A popular factory add-on is its chrome accent package, which adds even more retro flare to the popular model.
The domestic automaker has also shown a variety of PT Cruiser-based concept cars, not available for sale.
