The completely redesigned 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor, unveiled last week at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, will go on sale in the fall of 2016 with an even more rugged exterior and more sophisticated cabin.

Powered by an all-new, high-output, 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine, the upcoming F-150 Raptor has more power and torque than the current model, which is rated at 411 horsepower and 434 lb-ft thanks to a 6.2L V8. It will be mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Advanced LED lighting and camera technology for improved visibility, day or night, are other highlights.

Similar to the regular F-150, the 2017 F-150 Raptor employs a high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body to save weight (500 lbs to be exact). It rides on new 17” wheels with next-generation BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires specifically designed for off-road performance.

Standard features include new FOX Racing Shox with custom internal bypass technology that works to damp and stiffen suspension travel over rough terrain. The available Torsen front differential increases off-road capability further.
