The European Le Mans Series' organisers have decided to allow GT3 cars to compete in their series to increase the number of entrants in the championship.
After the second round of the ELMS at Zolder was cancelled due to the insufficient number of entrants, the ACO has expanded the list of cars that are allowed to race in ELMS.
Alongside the LMP2s, GTEs and Formula Le Mans, a GTC class had been created to host cars that currently run in single make championships such as Ferrari F430 Challenge or Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. And from now, the GTC will also include FIA GT3-spec cars.
