Pre-season testing resumed on three different European circuits on Tuesday. Ferrari was in action at the Mugello, BMW-Sauber shook down its new car in Valencia while four other teams gathered at the Algarve Motor Park in Portimao.

Mugello (Italy)
Scuderia Ferrari - Kimi Raikkonen
Bad weather, with the track wet throughout.
Kimi was able to cover a total of 42 laps, with a best time of 1.33.920.
"It's always nice to drive a new car for the first time," commented Kimi at the end of the day. "Unfortunately, because of the weather, we were not able to push to the limit, but these things happen. All the same, first impressions are positive and, above all, it's important that we didn't have any particular technical problems."

Valencia (Spain)
BMW-Sauber shakedown - Robert Kubica
Test kilometres today: 293 km (73 laps)
Immediately after the official unveiling of the BMW Sauber F1 Team's 2009 car in the morning, Robert Kubica gave the F1.09 its rollout on the track. Taking advantage of the sunny weather in the afternoon, the team concentrated on system checks and collecting base data from the all-new car. After completing 73 laps Kubica said: "It was a good shakedown without a technical problem. Although the track was missing a little bit of grip because there was only one car running, we already learned a lot about how the car is responding to set-up changes."

The Renault of Nelson Piquet suffered from an engine problem.

Inclement weather, which grew so severe at times that running was considered to be genuinely dangerous.
Sébastien Buemi set the fastest time of the day in the 2008-spec Ferrari-powered Toro Rosso fitted with wings that produce 2009 downforce levels. The conditions were so difficult and treacherous that team McLaren elected to run the test using a 2008-spec rear wing as a precautionary measure to increase downforce.
