According to Autosport.com, FIA stewards have given Michael Schumacher a reprimand, following his race incident with Sergio Perez on lap 28 of the Singapore Grand Prix.
As the German was trying to overtake Perez, he touched the Sauber's right-rear wheel. His Mercedes briefly took-off before landing in the barriers. Fortunately, neither driver was injured, and Perez carried on, but Schumacher had to retire from the race.
"I think Michael was too optimistic with what he tried," said Perez. "It is a shame to have lost a place to Felipe (Massa) in the end, but the tires were finished and I couldn't defend anymore."
Had the Mexican not changed his tires following a puncture caused by the clash with Schumacher, he may have had the rubber needed to fend-off Massa.
FIA stewards were also busy handing a fine, of 10,000 euros, to Team Lotus, for the unsafe release of Heikki Kovalainen in the path of Sebastian Vettel, after a pit stop.
