The Elantra Touring is one of the few remaining models that have yet to undergo Hyundai's ''fluidic sculpture'' treatment. With the introduction of the five-door i30 at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Korean automaker probably gave us a preview of the redesigned wagon.

The i30 will go on sale in Europe in early 2012 and offer a choice of six engines. These include three diesels with output ranging from 88 to 133 horsepower, and three others using gasoline, the most potent of which boasts the 2012 Accent's direct-injected 1.6L unit that produces 133 horsepower and 120 lb-ft of torque.

If and when the i30 crosses the pond, expect the lone engine option to be the same 1.8L as the current Elantra sedan.

Auto start/stop and low-rolling resistance tires come standard, while ESP, ABS and six airbags ensure passenger safety on the road.

Meanwhile, the newly-available Flex Steer system offers three driving modes – Comfort, Normal, and Sport – which alter steering assist and responsiveness to adapt to various conditions.
