The Goodyear Hands of Fans Challenge supports another major undertaking involving a Zamboni® ice resurfacer called the Goodyear Drive for Gold. The Goodyear Drive for Gold (www.goodyeardriveforgold.com), which kicked off from St. John's, NF on September 30, 2001, is a unique, cross-Canada relay that is taking a one-of-a-kind Zamboni® ice resurfacer on a 6,000 kilometre, 69-city road trip across Canada. The tour's goal is to support Team Canada's quest for world hockey supremacy in Salt Lake City, and raise over $850,000 for the Canadian Hockey Association and grassroots hockey development. After reaching Victoria, BC, the tour will wrap up at CHA's headquarters in Calgary, AB on January 23, 2002.
