Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas renewed with Victory Circle on Saturday, in Road America, after losing three races in a row in the Grand-AM Rolex Sports Car Series.

Pruett, on his BMW Riley, finished 11.738 seconds ahead of long time rival Alex Gurney, who codrives the No. 99 Chevrolet Riley GAINSCO with Jon Fogarty, after leading the final 20 of 46 laps of the race.

Max Angelelli, who started from pole with codriver Ricky Taylor, managed to hold Ryan Dalziel (Mike Forest; Ford Riley) behind to take the last spot on the Daytona Prototype podium. John Pew and Ozz Negri completed the top-5.

The GT battle was very heated with three different leaders in the last lap. As in NASCAR, fuel played a big role in the race with white flag leader Jordan Taylor running out of fuel before the checkered flag.

Spencer Pumpelly (Steven Bertheau; Porsche) had just inherited the win only to... run out of fuel himself! That gave Eric Curran (John Heinricy; Corvette) the victory, which he was able to hold on to until the checkered flag.

John Edwards followed in second in the Mazda RX-8 car he shared with class polesitter Wayne Nonnamaker. Pumpelly took third with Craig Stanton and John Potter (Porsche GT3) in 4th and Taylor in 5th.

The race featured a 51-minute caution as a result of an accident between Gunter Schaldach and Joe Foster, the former loosing his brakes in the later who then went through a gravel trap and a tire barrier.

Both drivers appeared to be uninjured but while Schaldach walked away, Foster was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
