The FIA GT1 World Championship’s global expansion continues with the announcement of a new venue for the conclusion of the 2012 season.
After the winter announcement of the initial dates for 2012, including long haul races in China, Argentina and the first ever world-class motor sport event in Russia, the calendar for the coming season is rounded out by the final round in India, at the Buddh International circuit (BIC).
The track near New Delhi, site of the FIA Formula One World Championship, adds to an already impressive calendar. The final event of the 2012 season will take place on the weekend of 30 November to 2 December.
Constructed in 2010, the 5.125-kilometre track situated near New Delhi, was designed by Hermann Tilke, and offers a variety of challenges to drivers and teams alike. The venue hosted the FIA Formula One World Championship for the first time last year.
