Reigning Intercontinental Rally Challenge’s champion Juho Hanninen (Skoda Fabia) stands on top of the provisional standings of the prestigious Rally Monte-Carlo after the first day of competition.

Freddy Loix, also driving a Skoda Fabia, finished the day in second place.
Former World Rally Champion Petter Solberg stands in third place. The WRC driver made progress all day, and finished the first leg as the best placed Peugeot driver with his 207 Super 2000.
Solberg is followed by Stéphane Sarrazin (Peugeot 207). The Frenchman was the maiden leader of the event when he clinched victory in the first super special stage of the event. However, he dropped down the field because of a wrong tire choice.
Former WRC driver, and winner of the Monte-Carlo rally in 1994 François Delecour is currently 8th aboard his Peugeot 207 S2000.
