Kia unveiled today in Korea their new luxury sedan: the K9. With it, they clearly stated their intentions of conquering turfs belonging to big European brands.

"The K9 is the incarnation of elegance, well proportioned lines and simplicity," Kia's Design Chief Peter Schreyer said of it. It is Kia's first rear-wheel driven, big sized sedan in over 10 years. Undoubtedly, the contrast between the length of the body (5090mm) and the sharp windows strikes.

By the time the K9 is launched on the international scene, during the year's last quarter, many features will have been added, such as a 13.2-inch active-matrix LCD touch-screen dashboard, a roof display, two 9.2-inch screens for the passengers and a 17-speaker stereo system.

The K9 will also feature a revised 3.8L Lambda engine producing 286 horsepower and, next year, a 329-horsepower GDI engine.

Only near the end of 2012, should the K9 make it to Canada. With a, still undetermined, different name at that.
