Pick-ups are cool. Twelve second, tri-turbo, VR6 Golf pick-ups with air ride suspensions are cooler. Volkswagen enthusiasts are known to be, shall we say, passionate about their VW's. That passion can sometimes be mistaken for an air of superiority, but you'll get none of that attitude from Chico Zetino of Auto Nu Design in Ste-Hyacinthe, Quebec. Considering he's put together one of the hottest Volkswagen's ever created, some might say he has earned the right to frown upon all other Volkswagens, but that's just not in his style. Anyone who's ever spoken to Chico will tell you that he is one of the true gentlemen of the sport compact industry. That and he's got a lot of style!

Chico is a Volkswagen enthusiast to the core, having owned 30 VW's prior to the creation you see here. His passion for German engineering combined with North American tuning influence and his natural Latin style make for a one-of-a-kind ride. The vehicle in question began life as a 1995 Golf CL, Volkswagen's base model. About the only things remaining from its original form are the left and right fenders. Standard Golf mods begin with the Hella headlamps and modified Rieger fiberglass pieces. After that, the list of modification grows and things start to get complicated. cover. The amount of bodywork involved in producing such a unique rolling masterpiece can't be calculated in man-hours and dollars and cents. A project of this magnitude can only be measured through blood, sweat and Bondo. What makes this ride all the more impressive is that the flatbed conversion only took six weeks to complete. To keep the chassis from folding in on itself, the entire car was dismantled and re-enforced with a roll-cage and additional bracing.
