The model's popularity has also aided Mazda in becoming Australia's top-selling import brand so far in 2005.
And what about in Canada? In 2004, Honda's Civic was number one in the compact category from sea to shining sea, with 61,041 units sold, while Toyota's Corolla was number two with 44,563 units sold. The Mazda3 came up shy in third place, with a respectable 42,680 units sold. This number, according to Mazda Canada, was primarily due to a lack of product.
