SKYACTIV-Chassis
With a complete re-engineering of rear suspension mountings, trailing arm position & steering components (amongst other things), Mazda has produced a chassis that improves low- to mid-range agility as well as high-speed stability.

With newly developed front suspension struts up front and a new multi-linked rear axle, the ride and feel dramatically improves on what was already a superb platform.

In conclusion
I have to admit that after hearing so much lately about electric/hybrid/hydrogen vehicles, it’s kind of refreshing to hear of a company that is working on the real rather than the maybe!

Yes, perhaps someday, the internal combustion engines will go the way of the dodo bird, but until then, ICEs are what most of us will be driving, so why not try to improve on them?

I also like what Mazda is doing in its weight reduction department. Removing excess material without compromising the structural integrity of the item is always tough. Now imagine how hard it is to reduce weight whilst improving upon strength and ability.

In fact, perhaps I should go visit them and get a few tips, because this sitting behind a steering wheel or computer all day is really starting to show!
