If anyone doubts Mitsubishi's abilities to deliver on this promise, all it takes is a quick glance at previous World Rally (WRC) titles to see the healthy list of consecutive championships the tri-diamond brand holds.

The new coupe is expected to offer a larger passenger compartment too, benefiting all occupants but especially those in the back seat. Expect V6 power transmitted to the road via a 6-speed manual or optional 5-speed automatic with manual shift mode.
Being that the Endeavor and Galant are produced at Mitsubishi's Normal, Illinois facility, it is expected that the new Eclipse will share the line.
As for whether a Chrysler or Dodge branded version will make its way to production, that's anyone's guess. But considering Chrysler, Dodge and even Eagle versions of previous Mitsubishi/Chrysler Group Diamond Star vehicles have been sold since the Eclipse came into fruition, an arrangement than continues to this day, it makes sense that the domestic brands will want to take advantage of economies of scale and DaimlerChrysler's partial Mitsubishi ownership. This should by no means take away from the Mitsubishi coupe and convertible however, as the three brands are miles apart stylistically and in mission.
