Joey Logano went to school on the Kentucky Speedway and it paid him back with his third straight win from the pole at the one-and-one-half mile oval.

“I used to come here about once every three weeks when we were testing all the time here,"  Logano said. "I had a million laps around this place. I said if I ever got to race here I am going to be pretty good. One day I got to race here and it’s worked out pretty good for me so far. I guess hard work pays off in this situation.”

Driving a Joe Gibbs Toyota he led 106 laps of the 200 lap NASCAR Nationwide race holding off a determined charge by Carl Edwards Roush Racing Ford.

Series points leader, Brad Keselowski finished third in a Penske Racing Dodge after starting 25th.

As the laps wound down, under the threat of a severe rainstorm, Logano knew that Edwards was catching him.

“I heard he was running a little bit higher than me, so I moved up and tried to take the air away and force him to run the bottom or run behind me. That was the right move because when that happened I was able to pull back away a little bit. Once we got through the lapped traffic we pulled away a little bit and that was enough for the win.”

"I thought we were going to get him," Edwards said. "He just did a really good job of driving smart. His car was just a little bit faster."

Keselowski’s points lead over Edwards is now 272 points followed by Justin Allgaier, a Penske teammate who finished 8th, 313 points behind.

The race was slowed by a record 11 cautions.
