Don Thomson Jr. (Chevy No 4) not only grabbed the pole at the A&W The Dub 300 NASCAR Canadian Tire race held at the Sun Valley Raceway Saturday evening in B.C. but he also won the race.

Some eight laps before the end, already three times winner this season, Scott Steckley (Dodge No 22) seemed poised to win yet another race but handling problems made him lose that spot to Thomson.

He still ended second followed by John Gaunt (Dodge No 12), Mark Dilley (Dodge No 9) and D.J. Kennington (Dodge No 17).

Defending series champ Andrew Ranger (Ford No 27) had to settle for the 11th place as his teammate Alex Tagliani (Ford No 7) once again had engine problems. He finished 17th.
