NASCAR: Tire issues resolved for Brickyard 400

|
Last year's NASCAR Sprint Cup event of the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis was hampered by excessive tyre wear issues and it looks as though Goodyear has found the solution and resolved those problems in time for the upcoming presentation.

Following seven test sessions, Goodyear concluded its tyre selection on Tuesday for this year's event at Indy, which takes place on July 26.

A number of Sprint Cup teams and drivers, including four-time race winner Jeff Gordon, have contributed with their running and feedback in order to help Goodyear build a tyre that lasts for a whole fuel run.

Last year, tyres would not last half a stint before showing cords or blowing up, but after completing this week's test, the tire manufacturer is confident that the issue has been resolved.
