A capable and highly sought after performance SUV, the Porsche Cayenne has been on the market for some four years now. Soon, the redesigned and

improved machine will appear at the North American International Auto Show- and it's guaranteed to make a bit of a splash.

Sometimes criticized for it's awkward styling, the lumpy shape of the old machine is replaced by a shell that features a more focused and dramatic shape to its fascia, including immense ducting in the bumper for enhanced airflow on the Turbo designated models.

It's not only the looks that have been stepped up.

New engines promise higher fuel efficiency alongside increased output. This is partly made possible by Porsches new Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) system.

To keep the added power under control, an innovative new system called Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) is available on any model to work alongside existing safety features.

The German performance car builder says that further information on the Cayenne, Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo will be available at a January 8th press conference.

Excited customers will have to wait until March to see the new benchmark-setting performance SUV in dealerships.
