If you're after a luxury vehicle for the family but you've got some heavy weekend toys to haul around, chances are you've heard of the Infiniti QX56. By melding style, technology and comfort with the capability of a full-sized, truck-based SUV, the QX56 impresses with its 9000 pound towing capacity and lengthy list of features.
Recently unveiled at the North American International Auto Show, the 2008 model has received various updates which make it even more appealing. It's dressed up for a night on the town, with new front and rear fascias, roof- racks, and standard 20 inch chromed wheels. Inside, there is a new instrument cluster with Fine Vision gauges, wood grain trim, a heated steering wheel and power-folding third row seat.
Of course, the list of electronics would impress any technophile as well. For instance, the Bose stereo is powered by a Burr-Brown Digital audio converter, and there's even a 9.5 gigabyte hard drive with a flash-card slot to easily transfer MP3's to the vehicle. A larger, 8-inch screen is available for watching DVD's, and the navigation system can be had with real-time traffic mapping to guide drivers around congested roadways.
"Like the all-new G Sedan, the 2008 QX demonstrates Infiniti's philosophy of constantly evolving in the competitive luxury segment," says Mark Igo, VP and GM of Infiniti. "Despite being voted by consumers as top in its class in the J.D. Power and Associates 2006 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study, we've given the new QX significant upgrades in the areas of interior design, performance, luxury features, and technology."
It's all backed by a DOHC 5.6 litre V8 engine which generates 320 horsepower. Expect he new QX56 to arrive in showrooms this April.
